Myers Grill & Catering

We travel to Williamsburg for something completely different. We take along Bernie and Deb. Back in the days when I was dating Regina, the four of us used to check out bizarre and out of the way places as a weekend advocation. Regina had an appetite for the unusual. She liked funky and we all agreed last nights destination would have, should we say, excited her.

When Bernie isn't on safari doing his wild game hunting thing...he's all about eating. I had told him about Myers Grill and they were up for the task.

You gotta love a fine dining establishment that lets you bring your spirits and even supplies you with the glassware. The four wine glasses that were provided all had the same attribute in the fact that they remotely resembled an actual wine glass. We were told by our attentive waitstaff that no two were alike...sort of like snowflakes or finger prints.

After entering through the kitchen, we were told we had a choice of the table near the TV or sit in the kitchen. We opted for the TV view. By the way the Iowa Buckeyes were not on TV and we were hoping we could find Larry Welk on one of the channels but a large sign indicated we were not to touch any of the controls. The table was out of the 50's or 60's and was made of chrome and pretend wood. The chairs were like the wine glasses.

Our head waitperson is Julia, who goes by Julie. She is assisted by Beverly and Tammy. There mission is to make sure any of our wants are satisfied. We are shown the board with tonights specials and are encouraged to get our order in the queue. Audrey orders the ribs and is quickly fitted with a bib.

As we are waiting for our food we check out the wines and share Buckeye stories. At some point
Deb gets mischievous and pulls a marking pen from her purse which she stole from work and begins to write on the wall. Well, I was taken aback at that behavior and sure hope the owners of did not notice her vandalism.

The meal was delightful and although we missed our chance to see the Buckeyes....there is always next week. See you at the Carver Hawkeye Arena

I bet Bernie was glad that Conrad wasn't with him or he'd have to hear about the plight of the Seabass that was on the menu. I noticed in the first picture that he has a nice can of "Chef Boy-Ar-Dee" on his table but I didn't see it on the menu, maybe it was for the friday night meal. I noticed that they are extremely clean and like to have the women guests feel fresh as I saw what I think was a Massengil "Fresh Nap" next to the plate of ribs, they think of everything.

As always, it is hard to get anything past you.....must be your training at the Marcos Pizza school.
The Blogger

What's this all about......

This is my lame attempt at blogging and so far I have been able to add posts almost every day......will that continue?........time will tell.

If you scroll way to the bottom you will see "It's all about me" This blog is about me and my friends and my life. Most of it is true.

Some of it is tongue in cheek and some of it is outrageous.

Read the parts you like...if you find something offensive skip over it. If you have any comments, praises or criticisms, email or leave comments...I can take it.
